matt-ladleyProfessional half-pipe snowboarder Matt Ladley had a major fall during practice for the 2011 Grand Prix. Knowing this fall was more server than most, Ladley had to find treatment quickly. As a native of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Ladley was well aware of The Steadman Clinic and knew Dr. Randy Viola was the physician to see.

After receiving x-rays and a CT scan it was confirmed that Ladley had shattered the end of his left radius. Dr. Viola knew that surgery was the best option for Ladley to get back on the half-pipe quickly. Using a metal plate and screw, Dr. Viola had Ladley competing just two days later in the Grand Prix qualifier with hopes to ultimately make it to the 2012 Snowboard World Championships in Oslo, Norway.
